Kelly Goodsel, President and CEO

Kelly Goodsel is president and CEO of Viking Plastics, Inc. and a member of the ownership group, VPI Acquisition Corp., which purchased the company in August 2006. He joined Viking Plastics in 2000 with extensive experience in the plastics industry.

A graduate of Ferris State University with dual degrees in Plastics Engineering and Sales and Marketing, Kelly held various positions with DuPont in sales, marketing, research and development, and management. While at DuPont, Kelly also earned his MBA from Temple University.

After DuPont, Kelly joined the Huron Plastics Group, a major supplier of injection-molded plastic components to the automotive industry. Kelly served in sales and general management positions at Huron. Following Huron’s acquisition by LDM Technologies, Kelly became vice president and general manager of the Fremont Plastic Products Division of The Plastics Group, a leading blow molding company.

Based in Michigan, As Viking Plastics’ Automotive Market Manager Gary brings with him tremendous experience in both injection molding and product development at both the OEM and Tier 1 levels.  A degreed Mechanical Engineer, Gary has held positions in both Engineering Management as well as Sales Management and has continued our product portfolio expansion with our valued automotive customers over the past four years.

Glenn joined the Viking team in October 2016 as Viking’s Sales Manager. Stationed in Michigan, Glenn brings to the table 24 years of experience in account management and sales in automotive plastics. His role at Viking Plastics is to develop new sales opportunities and a diverse strategy for customers and products. He is passionate about educating Viking’s customers on our lean culture, capabilities, and complete product offering. Glenn has a bachelor’s degree in Automotive Management and an associate’s degree in Automotive Service Technology from Ferris State University.

Shana Bailey, Marketing Coordinator

Shana joined the Viking Plastics team in January 2015 as the Marketing Coordinator. She has interned in both departments of marketing and sales. While attending college, she worked as the marketing intern at the Northwest Industrial Resource Center in Erie, PA. She spent her summers interning at Corry Manufacturing Company in numerous departments, though predominately sales. Shana has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Penn State Behrend.

Michelle joined Viking Plastics in 2002 as the Administrative Assistant and has held various positions throughout the company, with experience in materials, shipping and logistics. As the Customer Service Manager, Michelle’s main focus is to maintain customer satisfaction by providing problem-solving resources and overseeing the daily customer service activities. She works to improve the customer service experience, and create engaged customers. She is also responsible for the daily processing of EDI orders into the MRP system and complaint resolution process to ensure customer satisfaction. Michelle strives to build trust and strong long term relationships with Viking Plastics customers.

Autumn Sproveri, Customer Service Assistant

Autumn joined Viking Plastics in January 2016 as our Customer Service Assistant. She has a degree in Marketing from Clarion University, and has experience in both customer service and shipping in the automotive industry. Autumn is responsible for processing customer inquiries regarding production availability and description. She deals with customers on a daily basis and is usually one of the first points of contact customers have with Viking. Autumn is most passionate about working with and developing relationships with current and new customers.

Shawn has been a member of the Viking Plastics team since 2005. Currently Shawn serves as the Engineering Manager and works to deploy state-of-the-art CAE and molding technologies (RJG) so that programs launch and continue into production with success. In addition, he has a passion for team and culture development and spends time working with all departments to instill a culture of continuous improvement at Viking Plastics.

A graduate of Penn State Erie with AS and BS degrees in plastics engineering technology, Shawn approaches new products with a perfect quality mindset and desire to eliminate waste.

Jesse joined Viking Plastics in 2015 as a Senior Program Manager. Jesse has a bachelor’s degree in plastics engineering and a certificate in project management from Penn State as well as over 15 years’ experience in the plastics industry. Jesse manages molding and assembly programs primarily for the automotive industry, from design for manufacturing and assembly optimization through production launch. He is most passionate about growing Viking’s business through service and quality, which all starts with staying abreast on the latest technologies and educating customers on the value of high quality tooling and automation.

Corey LindenSenior Program Manager

Corey is a Senior Program Manager for Viking Plastics and started in October 2016. He has a varied background background in plastics processing, R&D, and software. Corey has 15 years of experience in project, program, and portfolio management across all major market areas. His current role is to ensure Viking delivers repeatable quality parts that meet and exceed the customers’ expectations and taking new programs from concept to reality. Corey is passionate about working with the engineering team and the larger business to continue towards excellence with plastics production and the lean journey.


Dan Gates, Cost Estimator

Dan is the Cost Estimator at Viking Plastics and has been here for over seven years. Dan receives all the RFQ’s, either directly, through customer service, sales reps, or management. He records these RFQ’s and works up pricing, whether it be product, tooling, assembly, or repairs. Dan has worked a lot of different places over the years, but says it is hard to think of a better place to work than Viking Plastics, right here in his hometown.

As a Viking Program Manager, Rene is responsible for coordinating internal Viking resources in an effort to exceed customer’s expectation on new product launches. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2012, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in management

Bob joined the Viking team in 2011 as the Quality Manager. He attended the University of Akron and has worked in several manufacturing facilities dealing with polyurethane foam, automotive, HVAC sealing solutions, household and industrial filter systems, home improvement solutions, mattress and foundation assembly, children’s furniture, and logistic expediting. His current role at Viking is to completely overlook the quality management system and to focus on manufacturing zero-defect products, while continuously improving systems. Bob is passionate about building a team that has a vision to fix what bugs them!

Matt joined the Viking Plastics team in 2012 as the APQP Engineer. Matt has spent his time in a variety of industries: plastic injection molding, medical, military, automotive, as well as the FDA. Matt also has experience in metal injection molding with the medical industry, as well as sheet metal fabrication with nuclear and aerospace. Matt’s current role at Viking Plastics involves working with customers and program managers to help ensure a smooth product launch.

Amanda joined the quality team at Viking Plastics in March of 2011. She has over ten years of experience in plastic injection molding and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Amanda has worked with many of the top global leaders in the automotive industry including Chrysler and Ford Motor Company, and is well versed in AIAG and TS/ISO standards and requirements.

Steve joined the Viking Plastics team in 2014 with over 15 years of quality experience in the automotive industry. Steve is a recent graduate of the American Injection Molding Institute in Erie, PA, in Plastics Engineering and Technology.   Before joining Viking Plastics, Steve was the quality manager at a machining company specializing in products for the aerospace and government industries.

Kevin has been at Viking Plastics since 2011. As the Quality Technician, he mostly deals with FAI, PPAP, calibrations, and programming the CMM and Shapegrabber. Kevin is most passionate about learning new things in the quality lab. He is certified in GD&T, Calypso, GeoMaric/Shapegrabber Laser scanning and automation, and has graduated Viking Academy.

Rob joined the Viking Plastics team in 2010, bringing more than 14 years of injection molding management experience. Most recently, Rob held positions as general manager with The Plastek Group and vice president of operations with Erie Plastics. He first gained manufacturing experience while working as a management consultant at Decision Associates, with a primary focus on employee development, training and corporate strategic planning.

Jim has been at Viking Plastics for over 30 years. In his role as Tool Room Specialist, Jim is responsible for accessing tooling issues and set up repairs in house and with tool shops. He is most passionate about meeting production demands and maintaining cavitation efficiency. Jim was a machinist in the air force for four years.

Steve joined the Viking Plastics team as an Automation Engineer in 2010. Prior to joining the Viking Plastics team he held the positions of Electrical Controls Engineer with MPE Machine Tool and Senior Automation Technician with Erie Plastics. Steve started his career in the industrial automation field by earning an Associate of Applied Science degree from the Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Jon has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and has worked in the contracting and automotive sales fields. He oversees three departments and works on various company initiatives. He is most passionate about helping people realize their potential and rallying when there is a tough deadline to meet.

He has held positions in supervising and supply chain management, while his current role as Scheduler includes balancing production and deliveries on the shop floor. He enjoys making sure customers get their orders on time.

Debbie has been on the Viking Plastics team for five years, and is currently the Purchasing Assistant. She has 19 years’ experience in the plastics industry, 15 of which were in purchasing. Debbie finds her role to be challenging but fulfilling, versatile and rewarding. She feels her greatest objective is to have materials in place when needed, keep inventory at an optimal level, and obtain the best product at the lowest cost.

Paul joined the Viking team in May 2016 as the Purchasing Agent.  Previously, Paul worked as a procurement specialist in the oil and gas industry. He also has 5 years of experience in  manufacturing. Paul would describe his current role as achieving on-time delivery of materials and services to satisfy the operating requirements of the business. He is responsible for keeping inventory lean, targeting cost savings opportunities, and developing mutually beneficial relationships with current and future suppliers. Paul graduated from Kutztown University in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.

She is currently responsible for assisting in a wide range of day to day matters. Brenda is very passionate about learning/investing/growing the current lean culture at Viking. She has an associates degree in paralegal studies from Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Lisa believes as the Member Development Coordinator she has the best job, getting to work with management and employees on a wide variety of projects from safety to training every day improvements. Lisa believes the people here are the most valuable resource.

Beth has been at Viking Plastics for six years and serves as the team’s Plant Accountant. Beth has over 13 years’ experience in the plastics industry. She is currently responsible for day-to-day accounting functions and human resources functions including payroll, scheduling, benefit administration, etc. Beth prides herself in building positive relationships with anyone she comes in contact with. She has an accounting degree from Penn State Behrend.

As the Cost Analyst, Mike is the data manager, and responsible for analysis projects and developing new applications. He enjoys anticipating and solving problems most. Mike has a bachelor’s degree from Edinboro University in computer science.

Rob is the IT Director at Viking Plastics and has been with the team for over 11 years. Before Viking, Rob attended Penn State Behrend and worked for a Tier 1 automotive supplier. In his current role, Rob is responsible for making technology an asset to Viking. He believes IT isn’t about computers, it is about finding, providing, and managing the right tools that enable or business to best serve our customers.

Mike has been at Viking Plastics since 2014 as the IT Specialist. He is a Penn State Behrend graduate with a bachelor’s degree in MIS and project/supply chain management. Mike’s role at Viking is to advise in IT systems’ functionality, whether it be software support, hardware repair, or system optimization. He enjoys helping team members better understand and efficiently use Viking’s systems while continuously improving the process.
