The Viking Story

May 6, 2008 - For the second consecutive year, Viking Plastics received Delphi Corporation’s Pinnacle Award for Supplier Excellence.
July 27, 2007 - Viking Plastics received Delphi Corporation’s Pinnacle Award for Supplier Excellence.
The award, established in 2004, recognizes Delphi’s top supplier partners for their contribution to Delphi’s Excellence culture.
The Award also provides annual recognition to a select group of suppliers based on their quality, cost and delivery performance.
Pinnacle Award winners have met or exceeded Delphi’s quality, delivery, service and competitive costs expectations. Only 26 suppliers from seven countries and various categories were recognized by Delphi. Viking is extremely proud of this achievement.
On August 4, 2006, Viking Plastics was acquired by VPI Acquisition Corp.
The acquisition positions the company to achieve aggressive growth and will strengthen Viking 's capital position.
Kelly Goodsel, who had served as president and CEO of Viking under the previous ownership, will retain that role with the newly recapitalized company. Goodsel, who brings an extensive background in the plastics industry, is a principal in VPI Acquisition Corp.
"Since joining Viking in 2000, this company has made steady improvements and is on the verge of something really special. Unfortunately, the previous ownership’s capital structure and overall holding company performance limited Viking’s potential,” Goodsel said. "When the Senior Lenders decided to foreclose on the assets, I decided to act quickly. Companies with the customers, people, tradition and expertise of Viking Plastics are rare."
