REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining work areas in professional manner
  • Schedule transportation for shipments
  • Perform physical Inventories when scheduled
  • Assist with timely pulling and shipping orders to meet 100% on time delivery
  • Communicate verbally and/or in writing with appropriate persons regarding job-related issues including, but not limited to, issues such as customer order requirements, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving requirements, customer returns, etc.
  • Attend training as required.
  • Participate and lead continuous improvement activities in the department
  • Complete residual waste inspections monthly
  • Check for complete totals on packing slips for each item
  • Determine weights and shipping terms
  • Apply invoice copies/foreign documentation to shipments
  • Types all BOLs, Canadian papers and SLIs
  • Perform other related duties as required

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Good math aptitude, data entry, with oral and written communication skills

Shift Supervisor

Viking Plastics – Corry is looking for a responsible Shift Supervisor to join our growing team!

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Assign personnel to workstations and ensure machine operation is done in a safe and efficient manner
  • Assist with start-up and/or shut down of molding machines as required.
  • Communicate with other shifts and personnel for overall efficient operation of entire process
  • Review and approve reporting of production, scrap, and down-time
  • Uniformly enforce work rules as outlined in current handbook
  • Sign off on work hours for direct reports and assist in evaluations and discipline issues.
  • Enter manufacturing floor transactions into ERP system
  • Assure the safety of all employees
  • Maintain and improve cleanliness and orderliness throughout the facility
  • Attend meetings and training as required
  • Be a leader in our Lean Manufacturing culture

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

Manual Operator

JOB TITLE: Manual Operator

SUMMARY: This position has responsibilities to manually assemble and visually inspect finished products.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

  • Performing hand-assembly production jobs

Material Handler

JOB TITLE: Material Handler
EXEMPT: Non-exempt
DEPT. #: 6250
REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor
HOURS: Shift

SUMMARY:  This position will be responsible for handling material and finished product

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain work areas in a professional manner
  • Pull sample material at beginning of each production job for a moisture inspection
  • Check all material at machines at least twice a shift and replenish as necessary
  • Locate jobs and required material on computer
  • Properly mix material for each job according to the prescribed recipe
  • Prepare special material for samples
  • Identify proper dryer size for each job and prepare dryer for use
  • Perform material set-ups and line clearances at presses as required
  • Assist Shipping personnel in pulling production for shipments when required
  • Move full skids of production parts from the floor to proper warehouse location and document in Syteline
  • Ensure all completed production jobs are moved to the proper location and documented in Syteline
  • Assist warehouse personnel with loading and unloading of trucks as required
  • Prepare cardboard and Gaylord bales as required
  • Ensure all filters on dryers, top of presses, and mezzanine are cleaned each shift as necessary
  • Identify presses that require grinders and prepare/install as required
  • Empty all trash and scrap bins as needed
  • Inspect fork truck prior to the start of shift
  • Perform cycle count inventory of all materials weekly
  • Assist with annual warehouse inventory

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Previous experience driving powered industrial trucks preferred
  • Experience with computers preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/CERTIFICATIONS:

Toolmaker

JOB TITLE: Toolmaker
REPORTS TO: Tooling Manager
HOURS: Second Shift – either four 10-hr. shifts, or five 8  hr. shifts.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

  • Managing all phases of jobs assigned to him to assure on-time delivery
  • Attending tooling kick-off meetings and preliminary design reviews to make recommendations
  • Machining, fitting, and assembling all components of a complex tool
  • Troubleshooting and repairing any damaged tool
  • Training apprentice in trade skill, safety, communication, and culture
  • Coordinating scheduling of his jobs with the Tooling Manager

Quality Inspectors

Quality Inspector

We are looking for a responsible Quality Inspector to check the quality of all incoming and outgoing material and products as well as production procedures. You will be a firm advocate of quality in our business.  You will embrace our culture of continuous improvement and be an advocate of our 2-Second Lean philosophy.

The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed. In-depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards are essential.  Experience in an ISO 9001 environment is essential with experience in IATF 16949 desired.

You must have ambition, enjoy working in a strong team environment, and like to have fun at work while working toward high-quality standards and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies
  • Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance
  • Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications, etc.)
  • Use automated systems to perform complex testing procedures
  • Maintain records of testing, information, and various metrics such as the number of defective products per day, etc.
  • Inspect procedures of the entire production process to ensure they are efficient and comply with safety standards
  • Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any that does not meet requirements
  • Prepare and submit reports to the quality manager

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a quality inspector, quality technician, or a role directly responsible for quality decisions.
  • Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems (calipers, mics, pins, cmm, force testing stands, etc.)
  • Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies
  • Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000, IATF 16949)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • High School Degree: Further qualifications will be a plus
